What is Ayurveda ?
Ayurveda is a life science.
It is the sister science to Yoga.
Ayurveda delves into the personal constitution of the individual. Each living being has all elements at work mentally and physically. Ayurveda is a personalized approach to living a life in balance.
The gunas are the mental elements consisting of; Rajas-action, agitation
Tamas-darkness, inertia and Sattva-harmony and balance.
As an Ayurvedic Educator I interview the individual to get an idea of the interplay of the elements.
Specific Yoga techniques, dietary choices, meditations, sensory input, mantras are suggested to help to bring the elements into balance.
The key is to make the most of your own constitution, supporting what works and slowly cultivating change to remove any obstacles preventing balance.
When the mental, physical and spiritual elements are in balance the individual is healthy and content and capable of achieving full life potential.
